Manaslu Base Camp (24th sep till 12th oct 2018 )

Manaslu (8156m), the 8th highest mountain in the world is located northwest of Kathmandu, near the border with Tibet. This area is only opened in 1991 for trekking. This rather heavy trek offers pristine nature, ancient culture and an idea of the grandeur of the Himalayas.

We begin our trek in Arughat Bazar, about six hours away from the capital. During seven days we follow the rocky gorge of the Burhi Gandaki, where we pass small villages. Afterwards, the valley widens and show themselves remarkable panoramas along the border with Tibet. This mysterious valley was an important trade route to Tibet in the past. When we approach the crossing Larkya La (5135m), the vegetation becomes more and more alpine. The main peaks around us Himalchuli, Manaslu, Cheo Himal and Himal Himlung. After crossing La Larkya, we move in the Annapurna region.

During the city visits you will see Kathmandu durbar square and Swayambunath (the "monkey temple"). Both great attractions should be seen at least once by every visitor of Nepal. Swayambunath is a Buddhist stupa on a hilltop with views all over Kathmandu.

Bhaktapur is a quiet town in the Kathmandu valley, protected world heritage and also known for its pottery, carvings and works of handmade paper (lokta).

The last two nights, you can enjoy the tranquility and the local rural life in Dadhikot.

Max. 8 people!

During the last week of your trip you will see the biggest Hindu festival in the country: Dashain.
